Shangri-La

The Shangri-La, a luxurious hotel located in the heart of Toronto has been a hot spot since it opened October 2012. When I heard, I had the opportunity to spend a night there I was ecstatic! I've always passed the hotel while shooting and exploring the city, but other than popping into the lobby I had never seen what all the hype was about. The moment I entered, I was hit with their iconic scent which is created only for the hotel chain. As I walked toward check in, I passed the entry hall which offers high tea and drinks accompanied by live music as well as gorgeous fire place. (I hadn't even checked in yet, but I already felt at home)

Check in was smooth, and we were escorted to our room. We were put in the luxury suite which was gorgeous. It offered a living room, separate bedroom, and every instagramers dream, an all white marble bathroom!

The bathroom offered a tub fit for two, but obviously I had to try out the facilities! The Shangri-La offers a 20 meter lap pool, a panoramic city view whirlpool, state of the art gym, fitness studio, steam room and sauna.

Provided in our suite was a Nespresso machine (my fav) and a few goodies which made it perfect for flatlays. The large windows in the bedroom made it an ideal place to shoot, eat and most importantly, relax.

After my little nap in the bedroom, I proceeded to the pool to see what the hype was all about. The moment I entered the room, I was hit with the sensation of heat (which was perfect because it was freezing outside) and I placed my belongings on the chair and dove in!

After a good swim, it was time to hit the hot tub and then dry off in the private cabana (probably one of my favourite things about the space!) The cabanas are hidden behind the white curtains facing the hot tub. Big enough for about 2 people, this cabana offers a large space (completely covered in towel, so convenient) comfy pillows, and your own television.

Of course I had to finish the experience with a few minutes in the sauna which was the best way to end my day. And if all of that wasn't relaxing enough, the king size bed in my suite made it even easier to doze off.

Staying at the Shangri-La was an incredibly relaxing experience, and I would recommend everyone to book a stay, you won't regret it!
