Beige Balcony Update

To say 2020 has been a hard year for most would be an understatement! Due to Covid-19, I’ve been off of work since March, so partly as a distraction but also for fun, I decided to join Pinterest to create beige interior mood boards.I kind of became obsessed with these interiors and ended up creating an Instagram account on-top of the Pinterest to maximize my inspiration.

As the weather started to get warmer, I decided it was time to update the patio (especially since it looked like I’d be spending majority of my time there). Utilizing Pinterest made it easy for me to shop without going off tangent and ensuring I maintained the aesthetic I was looking for.

I received a lot of positive feedback and questions regarding the outdoor space, so I decided to create a small blog post listing the brands and our experience getting the products in while the city was in lockdown.

The first thing we did last year was purchased our wood flooring in person from Ikea called RUNNEN decking. At $44.99 per pack (5 tile per pack I believe) it cost us about $250 ish to lay the entire width of our concrete balcony.

For our lounge area, I purchased the Bushnell 3 piece rattan seating group for about $350 from Wayfair Canada. In late April it was really hard to find any store with stock of bistro sets and I came across this one. Unfortunately, the colour we wanted was sold out and not expected to restock for 4-5 weeks. I put my e-mail down for a notification and the product surprisingly came back in stock in a week! Shipping was free and was said to be 3-4 weeks, but it came in 2! The setup was extremely easy, I literally can’t build anything and was able to set this up in minutes! The two main seat cushions were also included!

The face pillow, lanterns, white vase and the rattan tea light candle holder were all from H&M Home. I love shopping H&M Home because they have so many gorgeous pieces for really affordable prices. The pillow was around $15, the vase $29, candle holder was $15 and the lanterns were $29-$40.

The little rug was a score from Home sense, we stopped by in person when we street stores allowed to reopen. We purchased it for only $20; there was only in the store. Home sense always had amazing finds but it’s usually a one-off.

It’s been a great distraction to focus and create this beautiful space! The balcony went so well, I’ve decided to update our interior too! If you guys are interested in following along the updates, feel free to follow our Pinterest @Lifeinbeige and our Instagram @Life.inbeige!
